At the heart of Valiant Endurance is a strong coach-athlete relationship.
We want to know who you are and what drives you. We help athletes face areas that need to be tackled head on. It's not always a comfortable process, but sometimes it's the only way to get a new result. Our coaching is clear, supportive, and delivered with humor and care.
We request three things of our athletes:
Our programs are delivered via TrainingPeaks. Training is written on a weekly basis to ensure proper progression and development. We prescribe session intensity using perceived exertion. The use of perceived exertion encourages consistency and most importantly self-awareness. The output (power, pace, etc) is direct feedback on the execution of the session. The overwhelming majority of athletes, including those who are burnt out, plateaued, or ready to quit benefit greatly from this approach.
At Valiant Endurance, we recognize that every athlete's communication needs are different. Some athletes like to talk once a week on the phone. Others are ok with communicating on TrainingPeaks only. In the first month of working together, we establish what works best for the athlete and continue to make adjustments as the season progresses.
On site, race day coaching makes a huge difference in an athlete's day
"I was a competitive age grouper and someone who seriously competed in tris for well over a decade, Lauren you continued to greatly push my boundaries and knowledge of the sport. Even working out just to stay in shape there isn’t a workout that goes by that I don’t think of a session you had me do."
"I've been working with Coach Lauren for more than 5 years. I'm a high performing age grouper and she has been my coach through a couple of rough patches. She sincerely wants her athletes to succeed in and out of triathlons. I have qualified for Kona twice under her guidance."
“As a newbie to the sport and a back-of-the-pack athlete I spent more time trying to figure out how to do things than actually getting them done. My results speak for themselves. I PR’d in my iron distance by 54 minutes and in my Olympic distance by 27 minutes. If you are prepared to put in the effort, you’re looking for a coach that cares, are prepared to trust her and hand over the reins, Coach Lauren is the solution.”
“I've done triathlons for many years but started to work with Lauren because I wanted to refresh my outlook on training and take my performance to a different level. Lauren helped me face some anxiety around open water swimming. We developed a plan that was clear and simple to execute. Lauren helps develop a road map to your goals, and then helps you to not only to believe you can traverse the terrain but dominate the entire route. I’m thankful that I made the choice to invest with Valiant Endurance. One of the best decisions I’ve made since starting competing in triathlon. “
"I wanted to graduate to a longer distance triathlon. I had worked with Lauren initially on my swimming technique and enjoyed her energy, knowledge, and experience coaching and competing in triathlons. She took the time to get to know me as a person and athlete. She often tuned my work out schedule based on my personal and professional schedule. As a result, I improved substantially in all three triathlon disciplines (with improved strength, speed and confidence) and completed my first 70.3 and Olympic events this summer. I would recommend Lauren to any athlete who is looking to move their fitness and racing to the next level.”

“I decided to go with Lauren this year, because of how she performs when she races. I wanted more one-on-one attention. I knew that Coach lolo loved doing the sport and that she had a lot of knowledge. I really enjoyed the feedback that she gave me and she also showed me how I was getting stronger throughout the season. I think that was really important – it proved that the training program works. The communication has been awesome and I appreciate it. If I ever had a question, Lauren was right there with the answer and showed me the REASONING behind certain things. She went over my data with me, I definitely learned a lot from that.”
